Good morning,

After a two-week voting period, the results are in. Dr. Zhe He has been unanimously voted, by the faculty affiliates and Joint Advisory Board, in as the permanent Director of the Institute for Successful Longevity. Thank you all for your votes and support. We will now wait for the Provost office decision to proceed.

Dear ISL faculty affiliates and joint advisory board members,

Dr. Zhe He has been serving as the Interim Director of the Institute for Successful longevity since May 2024. Recently, he has discussed his intention to serve as the permanent director for ISL with the Provost’s Office. We would like your vote on him being the permanent director for ISL.

Dr. Zhe He is an Associate Professor in the School of Information of the College of Communication and Information at FSU. He is a fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association. Dr. He is an Informatician and health data scientist with formal training in both computer science and biomedical informatics. He is also Director of the Biostatistics, Informatics, and Research Design (BIRD) Program at UF-FSU Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Hub. He has an extensive experience in aging research with both data science and digital health intervention expertise. On the data science side, Dr. He has extensive experiences using electronic health records (EHR) data to model lab results seasonality, subtypes of Alzheimer’s disease, prevalence of multiple chronic conditions among older adults, and rationalize eligibility criteria in ADRD clinical trials. On the digital health innovation side, Dr. He has led interdisciplinary teams in developing technology-based intervention to promote the adherence to cognitive training and improve older adults' understanding of laboratory test results. As PI, his research projects are being funded by National Institute on Aging, National Library of Medicine, National Institute of Mental Health, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Institute for Successful Longevity, Amazon Web Services, and Eli Lilly and Company. He received his BS from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, MS from Columbia University, and PhD from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Before joining FSU, he was a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University.
