I am pleased to share a unique funding opportunity for researchers studying the intersection of sleep and neurodegeneration. The Alzheimer’s Association, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF), and CurePSP have launched the Sleep Contributions to Neurodegeneration (SCN) Grant Program to explore how sleep and related biology (e.g., circadian rhythms) contribute to or result from neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Lewy body diseases, and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

Key Highlights:

  *   Focus: Projects addressing the biological basis of sleep impairments and their impact on disease progression, risk, and symptoms.
  *   Funding: Up to $500,000 per project for a maximum of 2 years.
  *   Eligibility: Multidisciplinary, team-based approaches are strongly encouraged.
  *   Key Dates:
     *   Letter of Intent (LOI) Launch: December 11, 2024
     *   LOI Deadline: January 29, 2025
     *   Full Application Deadline (by invitation): May 14, 2025
     *   Award Notifications: By August 30, 2025
