We need your assistance in getting the word out about our Design Sprint April 14-15! Please share this with your department, faculty, GAs, and undergrad students. Consider offering extra credit to students that participate. Get involved YOURSELF!! It will be a powerful experiential learning opportunity for all involved! Read on and then forward ....

The Design Sprint for "Smart Home Design for Aging in Place" is a great opportunity for students, staff, faculty, and outside partners to engage around this important issue of our time.

This is a 24-hour Design Sprint, with an 8-hour break for sleep at home. Or students may elect to go the distance and work all night.

The Sprint runs from 4PM Friday April 14 to 4PM Saturday April 15 at the FSU Innovation Hub.

Undergrads from ALL MAJORS are encouraged to participate. There are great incentives for students including:

What's a Design Sprint?

A Design Sprint is an intensive problem-solving session in which students work in teams to develop solutions to a real-world problem. Participants learn the Design Thinking process for understanding problems and developing innovative solutions. The session closes with teams pitching their ideas to win prizes and fame!

The "How Might We" (HMW) for this Design Sprint is:

Given that many people spend the final years of their lives in senior care facilities or hospitals, how might we design a home environment that evolves with the needs of aging individuals to provide the care and comfort they need to spend their latter years happy and healthy at home.
