[Isl] Esther & Del Grosser Scholarship and Student Poster Day

Hello and good morning affiliates,

We are only 3 weeks away from our deadline to apply for the Esther & Del Grosser Scholarship. Please see below for all the necessary information and how to apply! We will announce the winners at our Student Poster Day. There will be a light lunch
provided for all who attend the March 29th event as well as prizes for best poster. We are excited to see and your students there!


  1.  We are accepting applications for the $1000 Esther & Del Grosser Scholarship for student research. The $1000 award is open to your graduate students. Previous award winners of the Esther & Del Grosser Scholarship will not be eligible to win the scholarship award a second time.

If you would like to nominate a student, please upload the required documents into the Esther & Del Grosser scholarship application website by clicking this link: https://fsu-estherdelgrosser.smapply.us/

Submissions must be completed no later than Friday, March 10th, 2023. In order to apply on the website, you log in with your FSUID by using the menu in the top right hand corner of the webpage then upload the documents. The following complete information is required for consideration of this award:
* A one-page letter from the student indicating how their research contributes to the Institute's mission, as outlined in the "Our Goals" section of the ISL web site: http://www.isl.fsu.edu<http://www.isl.fsu.edu/>
* A letter of recommendation from you, the student's advisor, highlighting the student's accomplishments and why you believe that they merit the award.
* Your student's CV.
* A high quality picture of the candidate to be used should they receive the scholarship.

The award will be presented during our Student Poster Research Day, March 29th, 2023.


  1.  Student Poster Day is on March 29th from 11-1:30pm. There will be a prize for best poster. Poster award could involve graduate or undergraduate students working with you. Please note that undergraduates are not permitted in the Poster Day event as the primary presenter of the poster, however, the poster could have their name on it if it involves multiple members of a team and is presented at the event by a graduate student. Postdocs in addition to graduate students are eligible to present. Please let Victoria know if you have a student or post-doc who will be presenting so we can get the correct number of poster stands set up and order the appropriate amount of food.
