She spoke about  her research into “Hearing and Cognition: Beyond Hearing Loss.”

Dr. Hamza, M.D., Ph.D., is a Faculty Affiliate of the Institute for Successful Longevity, Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Science & Disorders and Director of FSU’s Hearing, Speech, and Cognition Lab, where her research aims to assess and understand the impact of auditory problems (hearing loss, tinnitus, auditory processing disorders) on speech perception, language development, and other cognitive capacities.

Her research aims at identifying the association between different hearing aspects and the risk of cognitive decline.
