Neil Charness, Ph.D., Director of the Institute for Successful Longevity, will take part in the Second Global Consultation for the WHO-UNICEF Global Report on Assistive Technology.
The WHO-UNICEF Report on Assistive Technology will:
Highlight the status of access to assistive technology.
Draw attention to the need for and benefit of assistive technology, including the return on investment.
Recommend actions that will improve access to assistive technology, especially in resource limited settings.
Support implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Help ensure Universal Health Coverage is inclusive.
Charness is an internationally recognized expert on the use of technology by older adults, and he often speaks and writes on how technology can be better designed to be more accessible for older individuals and to more adequately address their wants and needs.
The global consultation will be conducted online on October 27-28.
