Subject: [FSU IRB] New Student Research Guidance

IMPORTANT UPDATE: New Student-led Research Guidance Available

The OHSP has published new guidance aimed at FSU students that plan to conduct human research (“student-led research”). The new guidance and other resources are now available at this OHSP web page: Student-led Research<https://www.research.fsu.edu/research-offices/ohsp/student-led-research/>, or: https://www.research.fsu.edu/research-offices/ohsp/student-led-research/.

A new guidance document, list of FAQs<https://www.research.fsu.edu/research-offices/ohsp/student-led-research/frequently-asked-questions-for-student-research/>, key tips, accessible algorithms and important links as well as detailed explanations and footnotes about key concepts, terms and processes are provided throughout the new Student-led Research web page.

The OHSP and IRB have always experienced a high-volume of student inquiries about FSU human research review requirements, as well as persistent issues with submitted student-led research, which comprises more than 40% of all RAMP IRB submissions. It is well past time that we compiled specific guidance in a central location and which guidance is devoted and responsive to our large community of student researchers.

Contact us at humansubjects at fsu.edu<mailto:humansubjects at fsu.edu> if you have any questions related to the new Student-led Research guidance.
