Good afternoon, Neil!
I hope you’re doing wonderfully and enjoying the holiday spirit!
I am just reaching out to ask if you would consider forwarding along the following information to anyone whom you might consider a nice fit. 😊
FSU is invited to nominate one faculty member to submit a letter of intent for the Brain Research Foundation (BRF)’s Fay/Frank Seed Grant Program. To be eligible, the PI must be a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor working in the field of neuroscience.
As this is a Limited Submission funding opportunity, FSU’s Office of Research Development (ORD) set an internal deadline for pre-applicants to express interest by Dec. 2, 2021 with the idea that we would subsequently hold an internal competition to determine who would get the nomination. However, no one expressed interest by the internal deadline. So this opportunity is now available on a first-come, first-served basis. The first Assistant or Associate Professor to reach out to me (Carolyn Bradley—cbradley at fsu.edu<mailto:Bradley—cbradley at fsu.edu>) will be approved as the FSU nominee. Nominated candidates must submit a completed letter of intent by Tues., Jan. 4th.
Thank you for your consideration. 😊
Sincerely,
Carolyn Bradley, PhD

BRAIN RESEARCH FOUNDATION
2022 SEED GRANT PROGRAM
ANNOUNCEMENT
Invited institutions throughout the US may nominate 1 faculty member to submit for seed grant funding.
Brain Research Foundation (BRF) is inviting eligible US academic institutions to nominate one (1) faculty member to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the BRF Seed Grant Program. Nominated candidates must submit a completed LOI by January 4, 2022.
BRF’s Seed Grant Program was initiated in 1981. The purpose of the Program is to provide start-up money for new research projects and innovative programs that have the potential of becoming competitive for an NIH grant or other external funding sources. Our goal is to have this initial effort succeed in opening future opportunities for research, collaboration and scientific advancement.
We are contacting institutions to make sure that all eligible neuroscientists are aware of this upcoming funding opportunity. To be eligible, the PI must be a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor working in the field of neuroscience. Each total award is limited to $80,000 (direct costs) for a two-year grant period. The first grant payment of $40,000 will be made upon completion of the Seed Grant Acceptance Form (June 2022). The final payment of $40,000 will be made contingent upon receipt of a Preliminary Progress and Financial Report (June 2023). The support focus is for new research projects of the highest scientific merit.
Please alert qualified faculty at your institution of this upcoming funding opportunity. If your university has multiple Offices of Research (such as a medical school), your institution may have received duplicate announcements. Please note that a medical school falls under its larger university and BRF will consider them a single institution.
To access the LOI form, please go to https://research.thebrf.org/login<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/research.thebrf.org/login__;!!PhOWcWs!nWc-26GwcpKI3VN_chdc2tCodiZR-DkgGFcqKcf9PLDbCsZd9ljp3D8wI6kfHAI$> to create an account.
