Hello Conveners,

Here is information about a grant funding opportunity from the Mayer-Rothschild Foundation that some of you may want to share in your interest group communities.


The Mayer-Rothschild Foundation has opened a call for letters of intent in response to its Designation of Excellence in Person-Centered Long-Term Care RFA<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/mayerrothschild.org/__;!!PhOWcWs!jMj9GQO6okAv3RlEUGrVN9pPabb6TS7eKdgGS0o0vfAtvEM37tcaPke6Ehimn3Wk8rc$>. The Foundation seeks to develop systems, methods, measures, tools, and processes for identifying superior practices in the care of older adults living in long-term nursing homes, independent and assisted living communities, and dementia and memory care residences. Ultimately, the Designation of Excellence award will become a touchstone for the industry and a way for the public to recognize excellence and person-centered practices and values at these care communities.

The Mayer-Rothschild Foundation Designation of Excellence in Person-Centered Long-Term Care will have four funding cycles, each one twelve-months long. Over a four-year period, these funding phases will allow for planning, discovery, validation and launch milestones.

Eligible applicants must be faculty at a United States, land-based college or university and prepared to serve as a Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI), partnering with a Co-PI at a not-for-profit 501(c)3 nursing home institution. They will need to collectively have the capacity and vision to co-design, pilot test, bring to scale and sustain the Designation of Excellence standards on a broad national scale and able to serve as co-PIs in conceptualizing and operationalizing The Mayer-Rothschild Designation of Excellence in Person-Centered Long-Term Care.

Letters of Intent for Phase I of the award are due by May 1, 2020. After careful review of the Letters of Intent, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal. The full proposal will be due August 15, 2020.
