An important message from FSU Office of Human Resources

This message has been approved by Shelley Lopez, Program Director, Communications/Special Projects, for distribution to all Department Representatives.


Please review the attached memorandum, which reflects the Thanksgiving and Winter Break holiday schedule. As an update to the memorandum regarding the Thanksgiving and Winter Break schedule, the University is pleased to announce that we have reached agreement with all staff collective bargaining units to provide the additional holidays to in-unit employees.



The following bargaining units have reached agreement:

*         AFSCME Council 79 (AFSCME)

o   Operational Services Unit

o   Administrative and Clerical Unit

o   Professional Unit

*         Florida Nurses Association (FNA)

o   Professional Healthcare Unit

*         Police Benevolent Association (PBA)

o   Law Enforcement Unit



Employees receiving the winter holiday benefit are required to physically return to work following the conclusion of the break. Employees not returning to the University should have their separation date documented as the day after their last day physically worked. Employees who are on leave following the break and do not physically return to work may be responsible for repaying any holiday pay that has been received.
