Hi HPC users,

We will be upgrading the network infrastructure for the HPC login nodes (hpc-login.rcc.fsu.edu) on Tuesday, May 5, between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

We expect the maintenance will take only a few minutes, but you may be disconnected from the HPC. If you experience disconnection, you can wait a few minutes and login again.

If you have persistent SSH connections or are running remote sessions in an IDE like VSCode, the connection may be dropped. You may need to restart your IDE or re-authenticate once the transfer is complete.

This will not affect any queued or running HPC jobs. The HPC scheduler and compute fabric will remain fully operational.

Why?

We are moving the login nodes to a network switch with 10Gbps uplinks to one with dual 100Gbps connections. This will significantly improve data transfer speeds to and from the HPC as well as provide additional network redundancy.

If you have any questions or experience issues following the upgrade, please let us know: support at rcc.fsu.edu<mailto:support at rcc.fsu.edu>.

Best regards,
The RCC Team
