From cmclaughlin at fsu.edu Fri Mar 13 14:28:43 2026 From: cmclaughlin at fsu.edu (Casey Mc Laughlin) Date: Fri, 13 Mar 2026 18:28:43 +0000 Subject: [Hpc-notice] 2026 HPC upgrade compiler versions support on Alma9 Message-ID: Hi HPC users, We are well into planning for our 2026 HPC cluster upgrade. The upgrade remains on schedule for the first week of August (August 3 - 7, 2026). We have some important compiler updates to share. As part of this upgrade, we are updating our supported software stack. Please review the following compiler changes, as they may require you to recompile your custom code. The complete list of planned compiler versions is: * GNU GCC v11.5.0, and v13.2.0 * Intel v2025.3 * NVHPC v26.1 w/CUDA 12.9 * CUDA v12.9 and v13.1 Deprecating/removing (contact support at rcc.fsu.edu if you need these): * GNU GCC 4.8.5 and 8.5.0 * Intel 15, 16, and 21 * NVHPC 23.11 * CUDA 11.8 and 12.1 What this means for you: * System libraries: The RCC Team will recompile all standard supported libraries (OpenMPI, HWLOC, nwchem, etc..). * Custom code: Users are responsible for testing and recompiling that rely on the deprecated compiler versions listed above. * Contingency planning: If your research strictly requires a compiler version slated for removal, please contact us at suport at rcc.fsu.edu immediately so we can discuss workarounds. Our software team can provide assistance with any recompilation or compatibility questions. Best regards, The RCC Team -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
