[Hpc-notice] Internet access to Open OnDemand apps policy change: February 2, 2026

Hello Open OnDemand users,

We've added a new option when launching your Open OnDemand Interactive App sessions. You can now choose whether your session needs external network access:

Check the box if your work requires connecting to resources outside the HPC cluster. If you are working only with data and tools on the HPC or RCC storage, you can leave it unchecked.

We have added this field to all Interactive Apps where it is relevant. We will change the default to be unchecked on February 2, 2026. If you submit any jobs between now and then, your preferred setting will persist in the cached ondemand folder in your home directory.

This helps us manage network resources more efficiently while making sure you have connectivity when you need it.
