Dear Beloved Gammanoles,
As many of you know, I’ve been working here for 30+ years now. My hair is grey, my gate is less fluid, my hearing is poor, and, well, the list goes on. But despite all my age-relaced deficiencies, I have managed to avoid developing a relationship with a cardiologist so far. That may have changed today.
I know of no reason why, but someone chose to put large bubble wrap around one of Mitch’s detectors. It was taped around the crystal end of the detector. Consequently, it was as I was manhandling one of Mitch’s detectors into position that one of the bubbles did what they are prone to do when you apply excess pressure to them. It popped. Loudly. In the small confines of the detector annealing lab, this registered as loudly as a gunshot to me. Even w/ the diminished hearing…
Fortunately, I was able to maintain my composure, finish setting the detector in place, secure it, and then stand patiently waiting for my heart rate to return to normal.
I’m choosing to view this as a free ‘stress test’ thus saving me co-pays, but would like to humbly ask that if the bubble wrap isn’t completely necessary, a different material might be chosen next time? I’m not sure how many of these tests I have left in me!
Clover 3 is on the cart in TR1. Mitch’s detectors showed no significant gas load when connected and are now pumping. Please let me know how long you’d like them to stay on the system.
cheers,
p.
