March 8, 2021 UPDATE to In-Person/Face-to-Face Human Research

Research leadership, following recommendation feedback provided by FSU faculty medical experts and notwithstanding recent CDC vaccination guidance (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated-guidance.html) has decided to maintain the current COVID-19-related restriction on in-person human research involving persons aged 65 and older and those considered by CDC<https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/people-with-medical-conditions.html?CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fcoronavirus%2F2019-ncov%2Fneed-extra-precautions%2Fgroups-at-higher-risk.html> as having certain underlying medical conditions.

The decision considered emerging scientific data about COVID-19 risks, COVID-19 vaccination and evolving federal agency guidance pertaining to fully vaccinated persons. In around 30 days' time the restriction will be revisited to examine further data and guidance.
