Good afternoon,

I have submitted our break out session information to FLA (below). Michelle and I decided on four panelists and it sounds like we should have a great presentation. I will work with Cheryl to tweak any details needed for the final program and please let me know if you see any changes that you might recommend. FLA will be determining our final conference program slot and I will forward further details when they are available.

Many thanks to everyone for the excellent topic and to Michelle for partnering with me on the proposal and for finding great speakers.

Thanks!

Without ROI figures to document the valuable contributions of academic libraries to respective institutions of higher education, academic libraries struggle to communicate their value to administration. It is often difficult for academic libraries to separate out the library’s contributions to GPA, retention, and graduation, but with pre-eminence and funding on the line, it is imperative that libraries show their usefulness in these areas, among others. This session will feature speakers from academic libraries who will discuss ways of collecting, analyzing, and presenting data in a way that reveals positive impact on administrative academic performance goals. Participants will discuss new methods of assessment and learn to show evidence of impact tied directly to student success, retention and graduation rates to tell the story of the essential role academic libraries play in institutional success.
