From copenhka at eckerd.edu Tue Oct 3 13:31:55 2017 From: copenhka at eckerd.edu (Kim Copenhaver) Date: Tue, 3 Oct 2017 13:31:55 -0400 Subject: [Fla-facrlboard] Feedback requested: Review of graphic design for the retractable FACRL Banner Message-ID: Hi all, I submitted a request via Fivrr for a graphic designer to mock up a design for the FACRL banner. I have attached the first draft provided by the designer. We have a limited number of revisions and a limited window of time to request revisions, so I hope to gather initial feedback and submit a consolidated list of revisions as soon as possible. A list of requested revisions that didn't meet the original specifications are below: - Enlarge the logo at the top of the banner - Please add the FACRL website which should read https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__facrl.org&d=DwIFaQ&c=HPMtquzZjKY31rtkyGRFnQ&r=ErNLMQvDS5BZrIZeelL-Nylx-JsCfC_BTnGrpOVKn70&m=sVuHfy2m5wefXQ6oErFs__2FsZpNr8281f-S0CgVdr8&s=lrsY8vzvwWO61RQxQ3ZMRCtxKju0Ev3JJ-x74tgn3X0&e= - Consider replacing the dark teal elements with orange to reflect the logo design. - Replace the palm tree in the center diamond with ................ - Consider enlarging the small descriptor placed under the logo reads as follows: "The Florida state chapter of the Association for College & Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association." Any ideas for the center of the diamond? I don't have any photos to suggest, but had originally suggested using the Palm tree element of the logo as a start and placeholder. My guess is that the logo is not of high enough quality. Do we have a eps or vector file of the original logo or perhaps access to a photo that would be representative of FACRL/ACRL? [image: Inline image 1] Please ?respond with feedback at your earliest convenience. I hope to submit a consolidated list of revisions by tomorrow morning. B ?est regards, ? *Kimberly A. To recap, there is a large concert taking place at the Amalie Arena on Friday night and they are restricting the use of the parking lot utilized by the Tampa Bay History Center on Friday to accommodate ticket holders. Alyssa worked with TBHC to retain use of the lot until 3:30 pm by our Association. In order to identify vehicles belonging to registered FACRL conference attendees, they have created unique parking passes for our guests that must be presented to the Blue lot parking attendant upon arrival and displayed on the vehicle's dashboard during the conference. Alyssa and I discussed the best possible means of distributing the parking passes to attendees in advance of the conference and settled on an email to all attendees that linked to a folder in google drive that contains the individual passes for each guest. We wanted to ensure the message went out asap to ensure time for questions and printing prior to departure. I have scheduled the email to go out tomorrow morning and will update the parking/directions page on the FACRL website with corresponding information. I share this information with all of you, as I am certain you may receive questions from your colleagues. Briefly, the passes are one per vehicle. If you are carpooling, only the driver needs to print and submit a pass. FACRL will be charged for each pass utilized, so this is an important message to be conveyed. We will share parking details with all attendees attending events on Thursday and certainly have extra copies available for those members that do forget to print in advance. For those members staying at the hotel, there is a free shuttle (first come, first served) that may also be utilized for transportation to nearby downtown locations. Please let me know if you have any questions and don't forget to print out your own parking pass in advance of Friday morning! Best, *Kimberly A. Please review the attached survey and reply with your comments. I would like to send out the survey early next week to capture feedback while the event is fresh in the mind of our attendees. I would also like to tap into your experience coordinating the event to document best practices and improve workflows to ensure continued improvement in our event planning efforts and to make Becky's job even easier for next year. Please add your feedback to the following collaborative google doc at your convenience. We will discuss results of both documents at our next Board meeting scheduled for November 14th. Please add items for discussion to our shared agenda at your leisure. Thank you again for your contributions to a successful 2017 FACRL Annual Conference!! I am lucky to have the support of such a dedicated team! Best, Kimberly A. Our survey will tell us more, of course. I do urge everyone to add to the collaborative google doc, not only for my ease next year ? but also for all of us involved in planning conferences in upcoming years. Kim, your drive toward better documentation is going to be a terrific boon to our successors. Kudos to you for facilitating it. Thank you all for a great conference! The sessions were on point, the facility was a treat, and the food was delicious. Some day I must try to tour the Columbia?s kitchens just to find out what ovens they use to make that bread. Looking forward to chatting with you all next month! All best?
