I also added some minutes from the past year and 2 events to promote our FLA activities. I?m hoping to add some annual reports soon since the last was from 2008. Before I send a message to the listserv about the new site, it would be helpful if a few of you could try to log on to the site. Since I was set up with credentials I never got to approach the site as a member would who was trying to log in for the first time. I?m wondering how easy it is? Ideally, we should have non-ACRL memberships run annually based on sign-up date, like ALA does. But WA seems to have assigned a number of people a May expiration date, regardless of when they joined. And many people join for the year in September or October, because they?re going to the FACRL annual meeting. The members we load in from the national ACRL list should have membership expiration dates that correlate to their ACRL expiration date, right? From memory the WA membership settings should be pretty flexible and unique to each group, so your settings for Members A can be different than Members B. If you like, I can dig in do a little screen cast about that membership area. I can see if I can figure out why memberships are lapsing prematurely. If the settings are correct and they are still lapsing, this could indicate a bug on WA's end, and we can figure that out too. When the position of Communication Manager was transitioned from a volunteer assignment to a new and distinct Board Member position, we neglected to add an additional Member At-Large position to compensate for its loss. Thus, we actually have three open Member-At-Large positions rather than two. The consensus of the Nominating Committee is to add as the third Member At-Large the individual who received the third highest number of votes. Is this acceptable to everyone? The Nominating Committee would like to thank each member of the Board that stepped forward to serve the organization by standing for election or encouraging others to do so. The election was tightly contested with only a few votes separating the winners for several positions. The complete election results are as follows: - President Elect: Rebecca Donlan - Treasurer: Suzette Spencer - Communication Manager: Jaime Goldman - Board Members: Michelle Demeter, Alyssa Koclanes, and Scott Schmucker I would also like to thank Kim Copenhaver and Sarah DeVille for their excellent work on the Nominating Committee. You two are the best! Once the FACRL listserv is updated with the names and email addresses of the new incoming Board Members, an announcement will be made to FACRL membership at large. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the above and many thanks to all for your service to FACRL.
