Talking in the Library: A Guided Discussion on Wellness and Burnout

Being an academic librarian in 2026 is a demanding job with increasing
responsibilities. Many of us juggle collection development, research
assistance, instruction, circulation desk shifts, committee meetings, and a
robust research agenda. Finding time for self-care in the midst of a busy
workday can be difficult.


Please join the FACRL Programming Committee and guest speaker Matthew
Johnson on November 17th from 2-3pm for “Talking in the Library: A Guided
Discussion on Wellness and Burnout.” Matthew Johnson, the Director of
Research & Instruction at the University of South Florida Libraries, will
speak about their research on burnout in the academic library. Attendees
are invited to ask questions or share their experiences promoting wellness
and mitigating burnout.


Registration is required. This meeting will not be recorded.
