Hello State Library Association/Federation/Council!

You are invited to participate in a research study centered on Latine
academic Librarians. This research study will be the first to examine the
personal experiences of Latine academic librarians. It will provide insight
to the academic library community into the challenges that academic
librarians who identify as Latina/o/x/e, or from Hispanic backgrounds,
encounter while on tenure-track and/or promotion positions in higher
education institutions. It will serve as an opportunity to gather data to
understand the path towards providing adequate support and mentorship
opportunities to Latine Librarians in academic libraries to successfully
achieve tenure and promotion.

Your participation will contribute to the understanding of challenges
presented to Latine Librarians in academia and will offer a deeper
awareness of the tenure process at their institutions to identify how to
better support Latine librarians in their journey to attaining tenure
and/or promotion. Your expertise and experiences are valuable to this
research.

*Survey Details:*

· Estimated time: 15 to 20 minutes

· Format: Online survey to be taken once

· Sections: experiences with promotion and tenure, institutional

demographic information

· Your participation is voluntary

· You may withdraw at any time without penalty

· Your responses will remain anonymous and confidential

· No personal identifiable information will be collected

· Data will be reported in group form only

· Results may be used for research publications and presentations
by the researchers

*Eligibility Criteria:*

Academic librarians that identify as Latina/o/x/e that have experienced, or
are experiencing, the tenure-track and or promotion process at a college
or university.

through Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
