*Eckerd College Library* is searching for a part-time Librarian to
provide general
reference assistance weekday evenings and Sundays in person at the library.
These library staff members work with faculty librarians on a variety of
special projects dependent on experience and ability. Part time reference
librarians receive professional mentoring from their supervisor and can
gain experience in a variety of library functions beyond reference
assistance.



Essential Functions:

   - Provide point of service reference assistance to students, faculty,
   staff, and guests via chat, in person, email, and telephone.
   - Ability to schedule work hours Monday to Thursday 6pm to 10pm and
   alternate Sundays, 1pm to 10pm.
   - Flexibility to cover additional hours on an as needed basis.
   - Participate in special projects with a variety of library faculty and
   staff that will include assignments in digital college archives and
   collections assessment.
   - Edit and design library guides using the SpringShare platform.
   - Participate in a variety of outreach activities to include citation
   workshops.
   - Provide circulation desk assistance as needed.
   - Assist with supervising evening student workers as needed.
   - Assist with social media outreach.
   - Provide assistance with technology such as printers, scanners, and PCs.

Required Qualifications *(knowledge, skills, abilities, and certifications
needed upon entry into the position)*

   - Strong customer service skills
   - Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and with the
   College community, including students, staff, faculty, and the general
   public
   - Ability to manage time effectively
   - Technical Experience to include Google Suite and Microsoft products.
