The libraries are committed to providing the professional development necessary for Research & Instruction Librarians to grow in their positions and be successful.

Research & Instruction Librarians participate in the library's information literacy instruction initiatives and support high impact practices in associated courses and university initiatives.  The successful candidate will join a new cohort of librarians that are creative and forward-thinking with strong interpersonal skills, who expand partnerships across library departments and across campuses. These positions report to the Director for Research & Instruction at the USF Library Tampa campus and are members of the Library Faculty.

 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

*     Actively engage with faculty, researchers, and students to understand their research and instruction needs, build collaborations, and promote library services

*     Collaborate with USF Libraries Research & Instruction colleagues located on the three USF campuses on various departmental initiatives such as assessment, outreach, library instruction, and supporting faculty or student research

*     Develop a focused program of high-quality research and creative accomplishments required for promotion

*     Actively participate and demonstrate leadership in professional responsibilities that serve the USF Libraries, University, profession, and community

 To be successful in this position, candidates will need:

 Minimum Qualifications:

  *   An ALA accredited master's degree in Library and Information Science by the time of appointment start date.

 Preferred Requirements

*     Demonstrated interest in the fields of Psychology, Criminology, Social Work, or related field

*     Experience providing information literacy instruction

*     Knowledge of one or more of the following skills: quantitative or qualitative analysis, impact management, systematic or scoping reviews

*     Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build partnerships across the library and university

*     Demonstrated capacity for scholarly publications and presentations

 Compensation and academic rank commensurate with experience.
