From Benjamin Hayes (MFA 07) “I’m currently working as the Script Coordinator on ABC’s Station 19. We are in our fifth season (though only the second for me). Show can be seen before Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday nights on ABC. As for my own projects, I’m currently writing a feature tentatively called Back to the Pines that is set in East Texas. “
From Anisha Gupte (BFA 20) "I have some exciting news to share! I just started a new job at NBCUniversal as an East Coast Page! To say I’m excited to play dress-up as Kenneth from the show 30 Rock for the next year would be an understatement. If you are ever in NYC, be sure to swing by 30 Rock on a day I’m giving a tour! My first page rotation is with the USA, Universal Kids, Syfy, and Oxygen social marketing teams."
From Elijah Barry (MFA 21) “A promotional video I made a few months ago for a friend’s coffee shop up here in NYC was recently released. And I got to do it with alumni and friends I met through the program! It was a pleasure working a project for such a welcoming, community-first environment. I hope I was able to capture just how welcoming it really is. Producer: Vladimir Edouard; Camera: Colby Blackwill. I hope you check it out! https://vimeo.com/662449267
From Carissa Dorson (BFA 11) “A short film that I shot called "The Beetle" will premiere in the Hulu show, "Your Attention Please" on Wednesday February 2nd. It's a surrealist comedy exploring isolation with absurdist storytelling by comedian Jil Chrissie. FSU grads Layne Inselman MFA 17) and Annie Shifflette (MFA 20) were on my camera team!”
From Erika Stone (Film School Acting faculty) “I will be performing in the Tallahassee Irish Repertory Theatre’s production of THE BIRDS, opening this Thursday at 8PM and running for six performances. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by going to tallahasseeirishrep.com/tickets<http://tallahasseeirishrep.com/tickets>. Hope you can make it!”
From Amanda Senrra (MFA Writing 21) “I started working as an intern directly to Simran Sethi, the President of Comedy and Drama Development at ABC and her Coordinator Julio Castro! I’m learning so much and feel so grateful to be part of a team that encourages me to give daily notes!! The Disney family is where it’s at!!!”
From Bethany Bilsky (BFA 02) " Last October I teamed up with fellow alum and producer Kris Eber for the helicopter aerials on his current tv project for NBCUniversal. We had an awesome time working together. And 2022 is also off to a nice start as I've just finished another job with Fred North (stunt pilot/aerial coordinator) as part of his aerial crew filming Murder Mystery 2 in Hawaii for Netflix. I even successfully represented Fred and his company Team5 Aerials solo on the last few days of the shoot; a big responsibility he trusted me with. :D It's been a long arduous road to get where I am and right now I'm really just enjoying the moment while looking forward to what's next. If anyone has any aerial needs of ANY kind (helicopters, planes, camera equipment), contact me at ethansky at icloud.com<mailto:ethansky at icloud.com> or Fred North at north649 at mac.com<mailto:north649 at mac.com> , just remember to drop my name with him so I'm put on the job! Thanks! And come by see what we do via IG: @bethany_bilsky and @fred_north and @Team5aerials "
From Anthony Romaguera (BFA 18) “Earlier this week I released a teaser for a new short film that has been in the works for two years. Many FSU classmates were on the crew: cinematographer Nathan Crane Cohen (BFA 18), production designer Grace Stalley (BFA 18), editor Arielle Cole (BFA 18), gaffer Rob Bevis (BFA 18), key grip Andrew Landreville (BFA 19), 1AC Tyler Knutt (BFA 19), art assistant Grayson Goga (BFA 18), and VFX artists Erik Kallin and Parker McBain (BFA 18) - making this film has felt like film school all over again! The short is almost done, it has been sent off for final color/sound, but for now here is a brief teaser: https://vimeo.com/672120523?fbclid=IwAR22NuG0fb3o9zLI_yDosUSsYOuOSxU9BCKpCKdz_nw1aGBrjwOihY16Wsc<https://vimeo.com/672120523?fbclid=IwAR2Skw1pIgyfcx53JlQz1zHn0CRvf_9m1V5GnU6fPrl-iUNrvYnK_UnJOtg>
From Ethan Townsend (BFA ADA 21) “I am currently working at Crafty Apes (ATL) as a Junior motion tracker.”
From Whitney Cllnkscales (MFA 15) “I hope everyone is doing well, all things considered. I wanted to jump on here and share an update I'm really proud of. I directed a short documentary for Hulu's Your Attention Please | Initiative 29 that premiered back in August. I also was one of the directors featured in the Initiative 29 | Season Finale<https://www.instagram.com/tv/CZUsDfoJGR-/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link>, but what I'm most proud of is my newest doc which will air on Your Attention Please season 3 this week! Here's the trailer<https://www.instagram.com/p/CZXQ2UPswnc/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link> for the new season. Take a look and let me know what you think!” https://www.instagram.com/p/CZXQ2UPswnc/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
From Brook Lee Karner (MFA 21) “Well, it hasn’t been a full year yet since I’ve graduated, but a lot can happen in 6 months. I spent about 3 weeks back home in Miami after graduating before I decided to jump ship and move to LA in September. My last few days in FL were spent in Tallahassee for a job I had landed with Forgotten Coast Productions. Once hurricane Ida passed, I made my drive to LA on the I-10. My first job was with Saniset making COVID test orders for major studios such as Paramount and Warner Bros. I held onto that as my day job while taking up 1st AC work for low budget short films. Work started to pick up in November and December before I went home for the holidays. I decided I felt comfortable with my connections and let go of my day job with Saniset and now I’m fortunate enough to say that I’ve been hired as a B Cam 1st AC for Carl Weber’s The Family Business. This is guaranteed work until April, which I’m very grateful for.
