Brenda and Paige and I will be in New York next week, arriving Friday, October 8. We’d love to see as many of you as we can and have two opportunities for a bunch of us to gather (no host) over food/drink. On Saturday at noon we’ll be at Vegetarian Dim Sum House at 24 Pell St. in Chinatown. Let us know if you plan to join us so we can get a big enough table to accommodate everyone. On Sunday we’ll be at Pig Beach Brooklyn in Gowanus (480 Union St.) at 6:00. We think we can all just show up and hang out together in the back, assuming it’s not raining. Brenda’s cell: 850-228-0512 and mine is 850 524 0063. We’ll be staying at Freehand on Lexington and could be available for meetups at other times if these don’t work for you.

It’s time to Fright the Frights! Muppets Haunted Mansion arrives October 8!” https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=sN_m0GeeCTg&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR3KPEnUuNUy4KLLMSLhUKxI6kdyEhUAkQSuTEdnjKrBxw5LMX7NtkgXe28

>From Max Allman (BFA 13) “We are still in New York and I've been working primarily as a documentary editor with some writing & producing here and there over the last few years. Excited to say that Netflix announced "jeen-yuhs"<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/variety.com/2021/music/news/kanye-west-documentary-jeenyuhs-teaser-netflix-1235073881/__;!!PhOWcWs!kt8B-uqPTsePolBtberUEodh39W6TZd0jNPsjtOwV0_bhwFBQiihcLm1mVLp5vY$>, a 3-part documentary following Kanye West that's been in the works for over 20 years. I've been very lucky to edit the project over the last 18 months, along with my co-editor Jason Harper. We have been propped up by our incredible lead assistant editor, additional editor, and backbone, Byron Leon (BFA 15) . And we've had Ryan Martin Brown (BFA 15) along for the ride as an additional assistant editor through different legs of the project. It's been quite a huge undertaking, so I'm looking forward to finishing up in the coming months.”

>From Samantha Polan (BFA09 ) “It's been a busy few months for me, two of the documentary films that I Line Produced premiered on Disney+. In June, WOLFGANG about the life of celebrity Chef Wolfgang Puck began streaming. On Friday, my latest project A Spark Story premiered about the directors of Pixar's two newest shorts, Twenty Something and Nona. It's been a such a journey these past few years, excited for everyone to see them. Fellow FSU alum Ryland Jones (BFA 09) was the DIT on A Spark Story. “

>From Megan Wise (MFA 20) “I am currently coming up on my first full year in LA, and during that time I’ve been lucky enough to have worked consistently on a good spread of fun things. With the pandemic, it’s definitely been weird, but since settling on the opposite coast I’ve PD-ed a couple of shorts, as well as a toy ad for Peacock Kids for Jurassic Park, Spirit, and Trolls, PA’d for Funny or Die, the American Music Awards, and the Golden Globes, and since this past July, became an Art Assistant at CBS on the show SEAL Team. Having specialized in Production Design at FSU, my current job has been one of the best opportunities I could have asked for. Every episode tends to be a new country, full of weird locations and scenarios I’ve been lucky enough to assist on firsthand. The team I work with are very talented, having worked on shows I watched growing up, and it’s been so great to get to build things with them. I am very fortunate that this group is very hands-on for the sake of learning a lot very quickly. When this season starts premiering in October, it will no doubt blow my mind to see things I picked out and/or made used in various episodes and sets on the screen.

>From Ken Robkin, Film School Digital Animation Faculty: Hello friends! I’m here today to shameless plug myself! I’ve been published for a second time!!! Wooohoo!! My story is one of three but clearly it’s the best of the set it’s about Vikings and monsters and a lot of bloody action!!! https://tinyurl.com/67zzy65c<https://tinyurl.com/67zzy65c?fbclid=IwAR2BBlNVrmotKidBMZn5VF1Ga5rOQHbkRsgZiWkHSUeCtisyMqQNAllj6HY>

Royce Marnell (BFA ADA 20) is working at Wayfair in Orlando as a 3D Asset Quality Control Specialist. He says the 3d operations department at Wayfair is huge actually, there are thousands of 3d models going through the pipeline every day so it's a lot to keep up with!

Soapbox Films is looking for a Senior Production Manager/Jr. Producer to join our Physical Production team. Fast paced shoots, high-profile clients, working with a great team! Lots of FSU Alumni at the company. https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2724451492/?fbclid=IwAR1aS_3hSxUwYfJoaRRl6YWIF0Djgg5_4fnqYOahY-fG3Kw4iKts_pOZi20
