>From Steven Acevedo (MFA 05 ) “My feature film, LOVE AND BASEBALL, is having its World Premiere at the Dances With Films Film Festival on Saturday, August 28, 2021 @ 7pm at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in Los Angeles. The theatre seats 450, so there’s plenty of seats for fellow FSU alumni.”

Jamie Rice (BFA 15), Nicole Machon (BFA 15), and Zach Verbit (FSU Alum) are producing a screening & comedy show event in Brooklyn (Eris Theater in East Wburg) on Sunday August 8th at 8:30pm with the Brooklyn Comedy Collective! We will be premiering Zach's dramedy "Let's Go With Sophie" and screening Jamie & Nicole's comedy/thriller "I Love My Upstairs Neighbor", which won the Audience Award for Best Short at Indie Memphis Film Festival last October but has yet to screen in front of a live audience! It should be a super fun night so get tix asap if you can make it! >From Grace Stalley (BFA 18) “ I was a showrunner's assistant on the first season of The Equalizer on CBS, which ran for nine months. Currently I'm working as personal assistant to writer/director Eliza Hittman while also art department PAing on an upcoming A24 Korean feature. Ryan Brown (BFA 15) connected me with Eliza and it's been a great change of pace to get a taste of the indie filmmaking world!”

>From Charlie Malcolm (MFA 17) “I've been working in NBC Marketing for the past four years as a Post Production Coordinator but am seeking to transition into the Film and TV music side of the industry. I recently updated my website with music samples of my work as a composer/lyricist and am looking for more film scoring opportunities. If you have any shorts, spots, or commissions you need music for, don't hesitate to reach out.
(https://charliemalcolm.com<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/charliemalcolm.com__;!!PhOWcWs!izB5PSsuYSdDpmRTtwnOa8gRzY2PW9HSH9OZ55RzSoOCRTiynsYBQz_pJHlduAk$>). Additionally, I've written a full-length musical which I pitched in this year's New Musical Inc. Pitch Conference. One of the mentors, Brian Graden, said my pitch was "masterful". It was very well received. Looking to produce a workshop or production.Statuette is a full length stage musical about a young, biracial woman who is unwittingly thrust into the fight to remove a controversial Confederate statue in her small town; as protests escalate, she uncovers dark truths about her town, and the neighbors she grew up with, that force her to confront her identity and find her voice. You can listen to some of the demos on my website. (https://charliemalcolm.com/statuette<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/charliemalcolm.com/statuette__;!!PhOWcWs!izB5PSsuYSdDpmRTtwnOa8gRzY2PW9HSH9OZ55RzSoOCRTiynsYBQz_p0AVdp4A$>)
One of the suggestions was to partner with a Southern university theatre program to put together a production and create masters classes around the show; since its plot is steeped in history and current events. So if anyone knows of any theatrical contacts or producers that would be interested, I'd appreciate the help. charliemalcolm at gmail.com<mailto:charliemalcolm at gmail.com>

“This is James Leming (MFA 18). I recently accepted an adjunct professor position at the University of Tampa. I will be teaching World Animation for my first semester. I've also continued writing and most recently had my pilot, "Jesus Americana", place in the semi-finals round of the GenreBlast film festival (I'm waiting to see if I made it to the finals round), and Coverfly's Launch Pad Pilot competition, where I made it to the second round (I'm also waiting to see if I made the top-100, but this placement made my script in the top 24% of pilots on Coverfly). It's currently also "discoverable" and available upon request on Coverfly.
So, I'm attacking the film business twofold: one as an educator and a continuing filmmaker!”

>From Dustin Cawood. (film school sound faculty). “ I had a friend reach out with an internship possibility. Glenn Kiser is the former GM of Skywalker Sound and now runs the Dolby Institute. "We're looking for an amazing intern to join our Dolby Institute team for 6 months (Sept-March 2022). It's a paid internship, fully remote (can be anywhere in the US), open to current college students or those who have graduated in the past six months. If you know any great candidates, please send them our way!" https://careers.dolby.com/job/San-Francisco-Dolby-Institute-Intern-%28Fall-2021%2C-6-month-position%29-CA-94101/761941600/?locale=en_US

>From Joey Daoud (BFA 08) “Looking for a part-time videographer / content producer. It's a good role for someone who likes to work on a variety of small web projects and put a variety of skills to use. The full job posting is here (https://www.indeed.com/job/videographer-content-producer-7c18946a5f957bfe<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.indeed.com/job/videographer-content-producer-7c18946a5f957bfe__;!!PhOWcWs!g7a77F2hoBwcFbpKo1lP5XYaLM4sdfiNBc-u0C9pM6eRdaFa4Fuq68Xs5UIyFcU$>) but if any alum are interested just email me at joey at newterritory.media.
