MEET THE 2019 NICHOLL FELLOWSHIP FINALISTS<https://www.oscars.org/news/meet-2019-nicholl-fellowship-finalists> (which includes Aaron Chung (MFA Writing 18) Read the full list of the 2019 Nicholl Fellowship finalists below and learn more about our program at http://oscars.org/nicholl. Congratulations, Aaron!

From Chris Holcomb (MFA 10) “Prompted by Meryl, I wanted to share what I am doing these days. After eight years of teaching high school in Pensacola, I recently started formation at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, Florida. So, FSU film school can lead to all sorts of different career paths! Lately, my MFA Class of 2010 has been sharing stories and gearing up to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film school. Our lives' journeys have led in a variety of different directions, but we will always be bonded by our time at FSU.”

From James Feeney (MFA 12). “HOLY CRAP! KILLER KART IS ON BLU-RAY! Hellarious<https://www.facebook.com/Hellarious-2009973022434918/?__tn__=K-R&eid=ARBwBIDuPMMDGq76VRj9MrL_vYZTelh35Eq5UqXM1XoLruUjKoaN1GNUhKb-YaotVuhrqH-hncR8Xv6k&fref=mentions&__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARDOTG3CQPgotdjeJ-8ruy_zMGnhNl8b8u-a_J6Z80Yqt1i6ffw7gL6rcJ9SBQWO2JSpmcVaAXV-XresDqmEcxR1DRF18u9hAzzSKYqqh6KQXOFbKo3kkwFt64wINBiWOu3sxBVTEP2J2pSEZ0MkG4iifqpQF07pRctnRNMipOKQYT5b5dpTkhOkPG0AlPpktmgZ0Y5h8G9iv56GPkeozvnuh9-q6w> is a new feature collection of seven award-winning horror-comedy shorts and I'm stoked that ol' KK is a part of it! You don't see a lot of horror-comedy anthologies, if any, so this is really cool 😃I'm donating 100% of Killer Kart's share, even the up-front portion, to the FSU College of Motion Picture Arts<https://www.facebook.com/FSUFilm/?__tn__=K-R&eid=ARA1pTSo4bCUl8Um8kch60bXcDNt4K29Ix0jNo8RkEcnZK1q_p3r3SY0jstOyhyMXDV46qxnKd2A8Y8_&fref=mentions&__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARDOTG3CQPgotdjeJ-8ruy_zMGnhNl8b8u-a_J6Z80Yqt1i6ffw7gL6rcJ9SBQWO2JSpmcVaAXV-XresDqmEcxR1DRF18u9hAzzSKYqqh6KQXOFbKo3kkwFt64wINBiWOu3sxBVTEP2J2pSEZ0MkG4iifqpQF07pRctnRNMipOKQYT5b5dpTkhOkPG0AlPpktmgZ0Y5h8G9iv56GPkeozvnuh9-q6w> 🙂 Let's face it: the movie never would have happened without them so I'm excited to see my share to go support current students 🛒. Check out this trailer to see the full line-up of fantastic short films! From Zeke Taylor (BFA 14). “I told you a few months ago that I would like to update you on a feature-length film I was working on. That film, “Mack”, has been completed and is being submitted to festivals. I first joined the “Mack” team in post production as an editor. I had not been involved with preproduction or production. I inherited a project that thankfully had some of the technical ground work done (such as labeling and organizing the footage to prepare it for the creative aspects of editing). It was my task to work alongside the directors in putting together the movie. After a few months of work we, as I said above, completed “Mack” and have now sent it to various festivals. We got good news the other day when we were told that it had been accepted as a finalist in the Gulf Coast Film Festival in Houston, Texas. The film festival takes place on Friday, September 27th and Saturday, September 28th. If there are any FSU alumni in the area it would be great to have them attend. Below I have posted the IMDb link. Thanks for reading this update!

From Sandra Valde-Hansen (BFA 97). “I am still shooting the reboot of the L Word for Showtime (L Word: Generation Q) and I'm loving every minute of it. We have such wonderfully diverse, top-notch crew and the whole show is run by fabulous women who I absolutely love. On another note, a couple of weeks ago, I was featured in this year's Variety Artisan Elite - Up Next Section:
https://variety.com/gallery/artisans-elite-2019-cinematography-editing-design/sandra-valde-hansen/ I am very honored to be part of this group and so thankful to Variety for this.”

From Colby Blackwell (MFA 1) “Hello everyone! I will be screening my documentary on Chernobyl "Motherland" at the Globe Auditorium (FSU campus) on September 19th at 6:30PM. I would greatly appreciate your attendance if you are available during that time. Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1216417248528717/
