From Jonathan Stone, Film School Head of Visual Effects: “Ron (Honn, Film School Digital Animation) and I have some pretty cool news to share - last year, through a former colleague and great friend, I was referred to STXSurreal (division of STX) and hired to consult for them on a then upcoming VR project they had in development with Robert Rodriguez entitled, THE LIMIT: A Virtual Reality Film. The project was in the final script stage, very ambitious, and so I brought Ron in right away. For part of the technical process we also included alum George Reasoner (MFA 94). The group we worked with had limited experience in prepping for VR to this level but were knowledgeable and easy to work with. We consulted and did the initial technical methodology and shot breakdown for the project. The consulting work we did during development is not credited on screen due to contractual purposes, but now that the project is released we can finally let you all know about it. Initially, we were not 100% the project would come to fruition. The experience gained from producing the FSU experimental VR film Static was highly instrumental and invaluable in the consultation work we provided. And while we were not involved in the actual production of the film, it is apparent that many of our methodologies and suggestions were adhered too - so we’re very pleased with the end result.”

From Michelle Calderon (MFA Writing 18) “ I have accepted a position as an assistant in TV development at Skydance Media. The cool thing is that I met with the president of TV there and she was an FSU grad from the school of theater! We bonded over reminiscing about FSU.”

From Victoria Cragg (BFA ADA 16): “I work with Aaron Hadley (BFA ADA 17) at BLP VFX, and we did VFX for the show "Kidding" which was just nominated for two Golden Globes! I was the designated VFX producer and Aaron was a VFX artist.”

From Carissa Dorson (BFA 11). “Voyagela<https://www.facebook.com/Voyagela-924879980935243/?__tn__=%2CdK-R-R&eid=ARCO1IaMdjY-RgpwMolHBSC0vkYKULF37RYLSa2kdcEeiFOeRxjozQP7-3fbG5Yt2gnjW_FYoVN_8IP3&fref=mentions> featured me in their online magazine today.
