From Stacy Milbourn (MFA Writing 14) “For the past 4 months, I've been working on The Good Place season 2 as a Post P.A. The show stars Ted Danson and Kristen Bell and season 2 premieres on NBC on September 20th. You can binge season 1 on Netflix this month!”

From Michael Lockridge (BFA 05) “It’s official! I’m an “Emerging Cinematographer. See the article at http://variety411.com/article/eight-advance-icg-emerging-cinematographers-awards-2017-4152977/

From Matthew Barnette (MFA-WRITING 12) “It's been a little while, but I wanted to give you a couple updates as to what I've been up to lately. First, I've been lucky enough to be one of the writers on the Muppets' huge new live stage show, Muppets Take The Bowl, playing at the Hollywood Bowl for three nights only (September 8, 9, 10). To my knowledge, the Muppets haven't really done a show to this scale before, and it's been a real honor and dream to write for this iconic cast of awesome characters! Celebrity cameos, hilarious hijinks, and fireworks will most definitely ensue. You can still get tickets at https://www.hollywoodbowl.com/tickets/fireworks-finale-muppets-take-bowl/2017-09-10<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.hollywoodbowl.com_tickets_fireworks-2Dfinale-2Dmuppets-2Dtake-2Dbowl_2017-2D09-2D10&d=DwMFaQ&c=HPMtquzZjKY31rtkyGRFnQ&r=XK14IrgIaB-M4DhdHvEVmw&m=uS4TVzFZJWWRvLtUxQzBZaQ1JrxSFNDWsYR9TNyn_cU&s=vvaNdF1RVxXm7yl9Ccx1YvOfgyhdtCSUTh2O_IV2xQQ&e=> All of Soapbox Films has been pitching in and it's all hands on deck from Film School, Digital Arts, and Communication School alums!
I'm also waiting to hear back from NBC's Writers On The Verge TV writing program, where a spec I wrote has landed me in the quarter-finals.
Fingers crossed! “

We are delighted to welcome Greg Marcks (MFA 00) to campus. Greg will be a Visiting Filmmaker in Residence for the Fall and Spring Semesters, teaching some of Victor Nunez’ classes while Victor is on leave working on a new film.

From Monty Greenlee (MFA 93) I was involved with the writing and producing of an EP with my song writing partner j. ramada. The album is titled "Too Many Days Without" and was released in April. I was involved in the entire album but mainly wrote lyrics, co-produced the songs and sang backing vocals on three of the tracks: Hard Times, Too Many Days Without, and Cadillac Angel. We were blessed with many players on the project, our Grammy award winning engineer Seth Horan, guitarist Doug Pettibone, bassist Taras Prodenak (spelling), and the Czech National Symphony for our strings! We also mixed all the tracks without vocals to be film and TV ready. A labor of love and tons of fun” The album is on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify.”

From Sabrina Reisinger “After an absence of five years, I'm back in the Dean’s Office at the Film School. During my time away I moved to Asheville, NC, became a Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor. I worked in the Dean of Academic Affairs Office at my undergraduate alma mater Warren Wilson College in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina while also teaching yoga to faculty and staff. Last April, I made the decision to make the break from office work and focus on yoga instruction and practice and headed straight for the Satchidananda ashram, Yogaville in Virginia where I spent a month participating in a “Living Yoga Training”. Always in love with international travel and humanitarian service, I came to Tallahassee at the end of February as the depot between a service trip to Cuba to serve as interpreter and volunteer, and a trip to Cusco, Peru to celebrate my 50th birthday. In a case of serendipity, my previous position at the Film School was vacant and I was encouraged to temporarily work in the gap between my two trips to help out the College and to earn some spending money... One thing lead to another and I have accepted taking the newly configured position of Senior Administrative Specialist for the next two years. Walking through the doors that first day was like I had never been gone at all. Very Twilight Zone. I am excited about being back and being witness to the the College’s growth as it continues with its recent leadership change. I continue to keep yoga study and practice a priority and have been approached to teach student and staff alike, which I welcome when the opportunity becomes available.”

Aaron Hadley (BFA ADA 17) Started working as a VFX Artist and BLP VFX in Beautiful Downtown Burbank!

From Ryan O’Connell (MFA 09) “I'm excited to announce that I've been hired by Grand Canyon University to teach film production! As an adjunct instructor, it'll be just part time (one class) to compliment my main passion as filmmaker for Life Teen. I'm looking forward to sharing my experience and obsessions with other film nerds and giving them insight into the world of a working filmmaker.”
