Dear Colleagues,

The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) faculty and staff at Florida State University are currently seeking qualified candidates to apply for 3 new faculty positions:

1) Job Opening #42393 - Teaching Faculty I (SLS) Academic Center for Excellence

The Teaching Faculty I position is a full-time specialized faculty (non-tenure track) position that will work with campus partners within and beyond the Division of Undergraduate Studies to develop and teach an academic success (SLS) course and provide a complement of services to support the academic success of transfer students. The focus of the SLS course, which will be mandated for transfer students in academic difficulty, is on the development and application of academic strategies for upper division course work with emphasis on self-regulated learning, time management skills, critical reading, exam preparation, personal success strategies, and knowledge of the research university and its resources.

2) Job Opening #42395 - Instructional Specialist I - Early Alert (ACE)

The Instructional Specialist I position is a full-time specialized faculty (non-tenure track) position that will develop and provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of a new Early Alert program for undergraduate students. The Early Alert program is being established as an academic support initiative to increase the retention and academic performance of undergraduate students by connecting struggling students to a range of campus resources - including undergraduate peer mentors who will be trained to help students to develop deep-level learning strategies and self-regulation skills.

3) Job Opening #42394 - Instructional Specialist I - Supplemental Instruction (ACE)

The Instructional Specialist I position is a full-time specialized faculty (non-tenure track) position that will provide leadership and day-to-day supervision of the Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) program at the ACE Learning Studio. PASS is an academic support program that offers regularly scheduled, out-of-class, peer-facilitated study sessions for undergraduate students enrolled in traditionally difficult academic courses.
