The Academic Success Center (ASC) is administered by Undergraduate Studies and is housed within the USF  Tampa Library Learning Commons to promote the university-wide student success initiative. The primary mission of the ASC is to directly promote and support students' academic success by offering a wide range of services. These services are offered by three  distinct units within ASC: Writing Studio, SMART Lab, and Tutoring Center. Additional ASC services include Academic Support courses, Study Skills Tutoring, and Tutor Training for all departments on campus, including INTO USF and Athletics.
The ASC Director is responsible for the overall management, development, and assessment of Center services  and operations, working in collaboration with faculty, staff, and administrators in many academic departments supported by ASC services and with other partner organizations. This position manages budget resources, and oversees hiring of instructors for learning  support courses, assessment of their curricula, tutor training and its assessment, and overall learning support to students. In addition, the Director maintains an active presence in the field of learning support nationally and keeps current with trends and  issues related to student learning and college learning centers.
Since its inception in 2008, ASC services and staff have significantly increased in size and scope from  three professional staff and sixty student employees to six professional staff and 175 student employees, both undergraduate and graduate. Budget has more than tripled, and students served annually has increased from 3,000 to nearly 10,000. The ideal candidate  for this position is an energetic, passionate learning support professional with the experience and ideas to carry the ASC to higher levels of performance. Knowledgeable about trends in student learning, this individual practices evidence-based decision making,  and is committed to student success. This position reports to an Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of seven years related exempt experience or  a Master's degree with a minimum of five years of related exempt experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in education, educational leadership, or other terminal degree in a related field. Five  years in college learning assistance, with at least two years in a leadership role.
