ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

The USF Academic Success Center offers a wide range of opportunities designed to enhance the success of students at all levels, from first-year through graduate school. Our tutors are both undergraduate and graduate-level peer tutors who have received extensive and ongoing training and are well-prepared to support the learning process.  Beyond tutoring, learning support is available through academic coaching, targeted workshops, and learning support courses.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Academic Services Administrator is responsible for assisting in the administration of the SMART Lab, which provides support directly related to academic instruction in several entry-level math courses, and tutoring support for Calculus, Physics, and Statistics.


Responsibilities:

  *   Coordinate the recruitment, credentialing, training, and supervision of student staff.
  *   Develop and monitor schedules for tutors, teaching assistants, and instructors as related to SMART Lab support.
  *   Administer academic policies and advise faculty, staff, and students on policy matters related to the academic program and computerized testing.
  *   Assists with oversight of all instructional technologies in support of all SMART Lab programs.
  *   Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to produce reports for internal and external use including accreditation reviews.
  *   Perform other administrative and analytical duties as assigned in support of the academic mission of the ASC.
  *   Develop reports and prepare presentations about the program, instructional activity, program planning, etc.
  *   Assist with materials for the website.
  *   Serve as a liaison with other academic and administrative departments regarding the program and represent the program on cross-functional teams, policy committees, and work groups.
  *   Support department or unit responsibilities for orientation and program marketing.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Master's degree in Math, Math Education, or in a field of study related to the academic program, or a Bachelor's degree in those same fields with a minimum of two years of experience. Experience teaching math or administration of learning support at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have a Master's degree in Math, Math Education, or in a field of study related to the academic program and two years of experience teaching math at the college level or administration of learning support at the college level.
