Graphs (or networks), diagrams with nodes and edges, are an important part of many different analyses:  Bayesian networks (my specialty), Structural Equation Models, Social Network Analyses, &c.

We will talk about two different packages in tomorrow's R Group.

Graphviz (which is actually a command line tool for drawing graphs) and DiagrammeR (which calls it from R)

Igraph  which offers a graph data structure for R, several different graph theory functions and some displays as well.
