Dear Classics Majors,
I wanted to reach out as the fall semester comes to a close with a couple of reminders.
First, you should have received a message from the university announcing that the registration period for spring 2021 classes has been extended to Wednesday, December 9 (today), at 11:59 pm. Be sure to register for at least one class to avoid a late registration fee!
Second, once the spring semester begins, several deadlines will come up quickly:
1. Drop/Add will begin on January 5 and end on January 11.
2. Graduation: students intending to graduate in spring 2021 have to "apply" to graduate: the window to apply is open from January 13 to January 29, and can be found on your my.fsu.edu<http://my.fsu.edu> page.
3. Classes will begin on January 6, but all classes will be taught remotely through Friday, Jan. 15, 2021. That means that classes scheduled to meet in-person will meet remotely through Jan. 15, and then start to meet in-person on January 19 (Jan. 18 is MLK holiday).
Lastly, if you have any last-minute questions or concerns about this semester or next semester, do not hesitate to contact me. I will be available to meet via Zoom until December 14. Over the Christmas break, I will be on email only sporadically, but I will start meeting with students on Monday January 4.
I hope your semesters went well, despite the adverse conditions. Get some rest over the break, and let's hope that we have the chance to meet in person some time during the spring term!
With best wishes,
Dr Sickinger
