Dear Classics Undergrads,

Now is the time for juniors interested in writing an Honors thesis in Classics during their senior year to start thinking about a topic and the process that is involved. Here are two upcoming events that may be of interest.

1) The Honors in the Major program will be holding two general information sessions in the coming weeks, on February 26, 1pm in HSF2007 and on March 25, 1:30pm in the HSF Great Hall. Staff from the Honors in the Major program will go over the general timeline, offer an overview of the program, and answer student questions. See the attached flyer!

2) Eta Sigma Phi, the undergraduate Classics Honors Society, plans to hold a discussion on writing an Honors Thesis for current and future students: here’s the message from Dr. Jessica Clark, the Eta Sigma Phi advisor:

Classics Majors: Are you completing an Honors thesis this spring, planning to write one next year, or interested in knowing more about the process? Eta Sigma Phi will be holding a discussio n (open to all!) with current and future thesis-writers during "Honors Weeks" (March 31-April 14), and would like to include you! Please email Prof. Clark (jhclark at fsu.edu<mailto:jhclark at fsu.edu>) for more information.

Advising for the summer and fall terms will start next week, and I will be happy to meet and discuss with you the requirements and procedures for writing a Classics Honors thesis. I’ll be sending a schedule of times for advising appointments later this week.

Dr Sickinger
