Subject: [Ci-cia] Peer Tutoring Class

Are you looking for one more credit-hour for the Fall?
Are you looking for possible on-campus employment?
Are you looking for service learning opportunities?

SLS3717 - Peer Tutoring, is a one credit-hour graded course that will help you understand peer education and effective ways of explaining difficult concepts. It is taught by Peter Hanowell, Director of Tutoring Services at FSU. Most of the students who successfully completed this course last Fall were then employed by the ACE Learning Studio in subsequent semesters as tutors - so it can very well lead to on-campus employment in an academic setting that will enhance your own understanding of your subject areas.

This course is also a service learning opportunity - students complete 25 hours of service learning over the span of the semester by tutoring students within the ACE Learning Studio. It meets on Mondays from 3:35 to 4:25 (only one hour per week) for the Fall 2014 semester.

An application is required for this course: please see http://ace.fsu.edu/Tutoring/Peer-Tutoring-Course.

If you have any questions at all, please contact me at phanowel at fsu.edu<mailto:phanowel at fsu.edu> or 850-645-9361.

Thanks so much.
