"I am a Florida State alumna with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Sciences from the College of Human Sciences. I had the honor of working as a teacher in Gadsden County for five years. This experience was very fulfilling; however, I was limited in my ability to truly impact change. After the birth of my daughter and different experiences in the classroom, I reevaluated how I wanted to impact change within the education system and which role would be the best fit for me. This led me to the decision of pursing my Ed.S. in School Psychology because I really enjoy serving and helping others. My position as the conference liaison and active member in Student Affiliates of School Psychology (SASP) has allowed me to embrace that role and is helping to prepare me for my future career as a School Psychologist."

Dean Marcy Driscoll has announced her plans to step down from the deanship in June of 2018 and retire from FSU at year's end. She has served as dean of the College of Education since 2004 and has been a professor in the Instructional Systems & Learning Technologies program since 1980.

Marcy's tenure as dean has been marked by the renovation of the Stone Building; upward momentum in college and program rankings, including the #1 Sport Management program and among the top online graduate programs in Education in the country; and alumni and friend commitments of more than $32M to build the most generous academic scholarship program on campus.

Her departure marks the end of an era for FSU and an opportunity to continue our reputation for excellence.

Beginning this February, the College will hold stakeholder meetings to ask students, alumni and others for their views and priorities for a new dean. The search committee is led by FSU College of Communication and Information Dean Larry Dennis. Information on these meetings will be available soon.
