Use of these career training platforms can allow graduate students to explore career options and learn job search strategies to secure employment in academia and beyond. By providing guidance on crafting application materials and interviewing techniques, students are empowered to make informed decisions about their career path.

These resources are accessible and well-curated for committed graduate students by offering recorded seminars, reflective prompts, and assessments that guide the student experience and foster user engagement. Another resource specifically for doctoral students and postdocs is Quinncia, an AI tool that provides resume/CV review and asynchronous virtual mock interviews. Quinncia can help PhDs create application materials that pass Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), which many companies use for screening applicants. Access to Quinncia is tied to a badge (micro-credential) that can be awarded for interaction with the Beyond the Professoriate platform. This certification can be showcased on LinkedIn to demonstrate a student’s career management skills.
