The Center for Undergraduate Research and Academic Engagement (CRE)<https://cre.fsu.edu/research-mentor-information> is currently recruiting UROP project proposals for the 2023-2024 academic year from faculty, postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and campus partners to broaden the options for our Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program<http://cre.fsu.edu/programs/urop> (UROP) students. Feel free to share this announcement with your fellow graduate students as well.

As UROP research mentors, faculty, postdoctoral scholars and graduate students are eligible to apply for UROP materials grant funding<https://cre.fsu.edu/research-mentor-information> and may be nominated for an Undergraduate Research Mentor Award<https://cre.fsu.edu/resources/facultyresearchmentor/awards>.

In addition, we are also co-hosting a new UROP Graduate Student Mentoring Workshop Series with Dr. Rachel Goff-Albritton from the Office of Research Development<https://www.research.fsu.edu/research-offices/ord/research-mentoring/research-mentor-academy/> in collaboration with The Graduate School and the Office of Graduate Fellowships and Awards. The series, specifically for current graduate students, will cover the evidence-based, Entering Mentoring curriculum<https://cimerproject.org/entering-mentoring/> developed by the Center for Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research<https://cimerproject.org/>. This virtual workshop series will be held over 3 days twice during the summer, once in June and once in July (detailed schedule below).

During UROP project proposal preparation, CRE staff are ready and willing to discuss project ideas with you. UROP projects can be remote, in-person, or hybrid, and specific details can be finalized with students during the interview and contract signing phase. Please remember, by posting a project to the portal, there is no obligation to accept a UROP student if you do not find a good match.
