Faculty members deliver keynote presentation in Turkey

On March 24, Dr. Arzu Leushuis (left) and Dr. Ithel Jones (right) were keynote speakers at the International Conference on Educational Science and Research at Buca College of Education, Dokuz Eylul University, Turkey. The title of their presentation was ‘Critical Issues in Preservice Teachers: US perspectives.’ More than 65 faculty and students attended their keynote presentation.

Doctoral student focuses on math education and representation for Indigenous students

Doctoral student uses FSU resources to improve quality of education in developing countries

FSU College of Education doctoral student Bodunrin Akinrinmade’s passion for educational policy, led him from his home country of Nigeria to Tallahassee, where he is expanding his knowledge of how to improve basic education in developing countries, specifically in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Faculty member featured on Florida College Access Network podcast

The Florida College Access Network podcast has released a new episode with Lara Perez-Felkner, Associate Professor of Higher Education and Sociology. The episode is entitled "Rent-Free Housing, Mental Wellness, and a Randomized Control Trial Study". In the episode, they preview their upcoming session which will be held at the 2023 Talent Strong Florida Summit in April. Additionally, they discuss the connection between food/housing insecurity and mental health.

Gizem Solmaz is a PhD candidate in Curriculum and Instruction and her astrophotography represents the meaning of the deep feelings digested in space, allowing her to express her own feelings in the moment of artistic creation. The Sum of Many Spaces: Landscape Photography and the Sense of Self is on view at Dirac Science Library during the Spring 2023 semester.
