This email serves as a reminder regarding upcoming important dates in the academic calendar. The summer and fall 2022 important dates and deadlines are attached. The summer 2022 important dates and deadlines are also listed below.

May 7–May 9, 2022 – Summer A & C add/drop registration window.
June 19–June 24, 2022 – Summer B add/drop registration window.
Students are tuition/fee liable for any coursework remaining on their schedule after the drop/add deadline.

Late Registration ($100.00 late registration fee.)

Summer 2022 Graduation Application Period
May 16 – May 27, 2022 – Apply online at https://my.fsu.edu. Please visit http://registrar.fsu.edu/services/graduation/ for more details.
* For detailed instructions on applying for graduation online, follow the How to Apply to Graduate steps<https://registrar.fsu.edu/training/graduation/>.
* May 27, 2022 is the last day to apply to graduate in Summer 2022.
* Important: You are required to apply to graduate even if you do not intend to attend the Commencement Ceremony.
June 13, 2022 - Last day for doctoral students to submit doctoral dissertation to The Graduate School for pre-defense format review. ALL initial manuscripts MUST be submitted by this date in order to be eligible to graduate this semester. **
End of prorated 7th week of the semester:
Summer A – May 27
Summer B – July 8
Summer C – June 24
* Last day to submit form requesting S/U grading or to change S/U option back to a regular grade.
* Last day to reduce course load without the permission of Academic Dean. Dean’s permission required to drop below twelve semester hours.
* Last day to drop a course without receiving a grade.
* Last day to withdraw without receiving a grade.
* Last day for doctoral students to take and pass their preliminary examination in order to add or convert dissertation hours for the current semester.
* Last day to petition to reinstate class schedule cancelled for nonpayment of tuition.
June 27, 2022 - Last day for master’s thesis students to submit their thesis to The Graduate School for pre-defense format review. ALL initial manuscripts MUST be submitted by this date in order to be eligible to graduate this semester. **
July 11, 2022 – Final manuscript submission deadline. Last day for submission of the post-defense, content-corrected thesis or dissertation and required forms to The Graduate (by 5:00p.m. Eastern U.S.). All signatures/approvals must be obtained before the forms are submitted to the Manuscript Clearance Advisor. **
July 21, 2022 - Last day for Doctoral Prospectus approval during the Summer semester in order to graduate in Fall 2022. The Doctoral Prospectus must be approved by the academic dean at least four (4) months prior to Dissertation Defense. Note: This date is four (4) months from The Graduate School’s Fall 2022 final manuscript clearance deadline of November 21, 2022.

* Deadline for submission of Summer 2022 Graduate Certificate Admission applications<https://education.fsu.edu/degrees-and-programs/certificate-programs>. (Departments must first review submissions. Please allow extra time for this approval.)
July 29, 2022 – Term Ends
* Beginning date for submission Summer 2022 Graduate Certificate Completion applications<https://education.fsu.edu/degrees-and-programs/certificate-programs> to OASIS.
* Deadline for submission of all Summer 2022 Comprehensive Exam/Portfolio results (Masters/Specialist students), Diagnostic/Qualifying Exam Results and Doctoral Preliminary Exam results to OASIS.
* Deadline for Summer 2022 admitted Educator Preparation graduate program students to submit the appropriate online Educator Preparation Application<https://education.fsu.edu/student-resources/student-academic-services-oasis/for-graduate-students> and for the receipt all official passing FTCE GK exam<http://www.fl.nesinc.com/> scores by Florida State University.
* Last day for thesis and dissertation and students graduating this semester to receive an email from Manuscript Clearance confirming final manuscript clearance.
July 29, 2022 – Summer 2022 Commencement Ceremony for the College of Education (tentative). Visit https://registrar.fsu.edu/graduation/seating/ for updated information.

REMINDERS:
* Doctoral candidates must include a minimum of two (2) semester hours of Dissertation every term, as part of the full-time enrollment, including summer.*
* A doctoral candidate, who continue to use campus facilities and/or receives faculty supervision, but have not been cleared by the Manuscript Clearance office, shall include in the required full-time load a minimum of two credit hours of Dissertation per semester, including Summer term, until completion of the degree. Those with underload permission must register for at least two credit hours of Dissertation per semester (or term). Before registering for dissertation hours, the student must consult the major professor as to the proportion of time to be devoted to dissertation work.*
* Doctoral candidates must be enrolled in a minimum of two hours of Dissertation in the semester of graduation (degree conferral).
* Doctoral candidates must be enrolled in Dissertation Defense in the semester the requirement is completed.
* A Thesis-track master’s student who enrolls in Thesis hours need not be enrolled continuously thereafter in Thesis hours if they meet the minimum University requirement for full-time or part-time enrollment through other coursework. The minimum number of Thesis hours required for the master’s degree is six. Those with underload permission must register for at least two credit hours of Thesis per semester. Before registering for Thesis hours, the student must consult the major professor as to the proportion of time to be devoted to thesis work.*

Subject: IMPORTANT Corrected Summer 2022 Dates and Deadlines - Final Manuscript Clearance Deadline
Good afternoon,
It was brought to my attention that the University Registrar’s Office Academic Calendar lists an incorrect date for the final manuscript clearance submission deadline for summer 2022 degree conferral. The correct date, July 11, is listed on The Graduate School's website, http://gradschool.fsu.edu/academics-research/thesis-treatise-dissertation, and in the attached documents. The Registrar’s Office will be updating their academic calendar. My apologies for any confusion. If you have any questions about this deadline, please contact the Manuscript Clearance Office at clearance at fsu.edu<mailto:clearance at fsu.edu>.
