I wanted to study sport psychology at an institution that equally valued education and sports. I believed that FSU offered both and have not been disappointed. FSU has provided me with professors that have been incredibly helpful throughout my educational journey, while also allowing me to learn in an environment that prioritizes sport performance. Moving back home to warm weather was an added bonus after getting my bachelors in the northeast United States. My favorite part about the sport psychology program is the opportunity to immediately apply my education to the field. The knowledge I've gained in the classroom is invaluable, but being able to apply these concepts while working through our assigned internships is where I have really strengthened my competency. This aspect of the sport psychology program here at FSU has bolstered my confidence and helped me to feel prepared to enter the field post-graduation. My primary research interest includes performance anxiety and athletic identity foreclosure. I recognize these concepts to have had major influence in my athletic career, so I have developed a passion for understanding them to better assist those I will work with in the future. Immediately after graduation I plan to work in the field and build on the experience I've accumulated while at FSU. Ultimately, I aspire to work for a major collegiate or professional sport organization. Have news to share? ?We'd love to hear from you!
