Every year, students in the College of Education elect representatives to the Student Leadership Council (SLC). This standing committee facilitates conversation between the undergraduate and graduate student population at the College of Education and the Office of the Dean. Every month, members meet to discuss matters important to students and discuss the state of the college. Get to know your department's representatives below:

CDU Presents: An Evening with Hunter Harris and Jesse David Fox

Hunter and Jesse will be sitting down to discuss their experience writing for Vulture magazine as well as their work on other projects. They will also comment on the current state of comedy and film, and anything else they would like discuss! This will be followed by an audience Q&A.

JESSE DAVID FOX is a writer/ journalist living in Brooklyn, New York. He has worked at Vulture since 2012, first as an Associate Editor and currently as Senior Editor focusing on comedy. There, he has interviewed comedians including Jerry Seinfeld, Seth Meyers, Sarah Silverman, Stephen Colbert, and John Mulaney, both at live events and for Vulture.

HUNTER HARRIS is a staff writer at Vulture, New York magazine's entertainment and culture news site, where she writes about movies, covering everything from Hollywood's #metoo reckoning to awards season, and more. She joined the site in 2016 as an associate editor. She was included in Paper Magazine's "100 People Taking Over 2019" as a name to watch, and has appeared on NBC's "Today," Good Morning America, PBS NewsHour, BBC World News, and many more. Previously, she was the entertainment editorial assistant at Refinery29 where she covered music, movies, and TV.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program Workshop Series - Arts & Creative Projects

Just Mercy Film Screening and Discussion Panel

The Florida State University Civil Rights Institute is hosting a special screening of "Just Mercy," a film about world-renowned civil rights defense attorney Bryan Stevenson, who works to free a wrongly condemned death row prisoner.

This fundraising event will include a pre-film discussion panel featuring Tallahassee area Civil Rights experts.

   5:45 p.m.: Dinner
   6:15 p.m.: Panel discussion
   6:45 p.m.: Film screening

The $40 ticket includes admission to the pre-show panel discussion, film screening, and dinner, plus soft drinks and popcorn.

Seyed Ahmad Rahimi (Measurement and Statistics M.S. '19, Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies doctoral candidate) recently presented at the ED Games Expo. Rahimi demonstrated the Physics Playground on behalf of Dr. Valerie Shute and the Physics Playground team. ED Games Expo took place in Washington, D.C. at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
