[Coe-grad] Important: The Spring 2020 Graduation Application Period is January 13 - January 24

College of Education Students Who Plan to Complete All Degree Requirements in Spring 2020,

Good morning! If you are completing all of your graduate degree requirements for spring 2020 degree conferral, you must apply online for spring 2020cgraduation beginning January 13 and prior to the application deadline on January 24. If you are not completing your degree requirements in spring 2020, please disregard this email and do not apply for graduation.

January 13 - January 24 is the application period for spring 2020 graduation. You are required to apply for graduation even if you do not intend to attend the Commencement Ceremony. If you are enrolled in an MS/EDS dual enrollment program in the Educational Psychology and Learning Systems Department, you must apply for graduation for both degree programs. Please note: Participation in a Commencement Ceremony<https://registrar.fsu.edu/graduation/ceremony/> is not degree conferral.

Apply Online for Graduation
1.      Login at my.fsu.edu<http://my.fsu.edu/>.
2.      Under myFSU Links on the left-hand side of the screen, click the SC icon.
3.      Under the Academics area, click the drop-down box arrow and select Apply for Graduation.
4.      For further instructions, visit http://www.sc.my.fsu.edu/Students/How-To/Apply-to-Graduate.

IMPORTANT: If your my.fsu.edu student account has not been set as “eligible for graduation” by the Registrar’s Office and/or you cannot access the application link in my.fsu.edu, please contact the Graduation Office directly at graduation at fsu.edu<mailto:graduation at fsu.edu> or 644-5850 for assistance, prior to the January 24 application deadline.

If you are applying for degree conferral in spring 2020, please note the following:


  *   Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. – Spring 2020 Commencement Ceremony for the College of Education.
  *   Participation in a Commencement Ceremony is not a guarantee of degree conferral.
  *   Spring 2020 degrees will not post to transcripts until early June 2020 (date TBA). NO exceptions

Other Important Reminders:

  *   MS Thesis-track and doctoral candidates* must have a Prospectus Clearance Form, approved by the academic dean, on file in OASIS to be eligible for degree conferral. *The doctoral dissertation Prospectus Clearance Form must be approved by the academic dean at least four months prior to the dissertation defense date.
  *   Doctoral candidates are required to register for a minimum two (2) semester hours of dissertation as part of the full-time enrollment every term, including summer. International students and students on graduate assistantships may have greater requirements. Please contact your advisor for questions.
  *   Doctoral students, after completion of the preliminary exam and twenty-four credit hours of dissertation, must be enrolled for a minimum of three credit hours per semester (of which at least two must be dissertation hours) until completion of the degree. International students and students on graduate assistantships may have greater requirements. Please contact your advisor for questions.
  *   Thesis students and doctoral candidates are required to register for a minimum two (2) semester hours of thesis or dissertation in the semester of degree conferral. You must also register for the thesis/dissertation defense in the semester in which this requirement is completed.
  *   All exams (comprehensive, preliminary, etc.) and all defenses require registration – contact your department for details.
  *   Spring 2020 Thesis and Dissertation Manuscript Clearance deadlines are found at https://gradschool.fsu.edu/academics-research/thesis-treatise-and-dissertation.
