References: <09165AE8-75EF-45F4-9E66-ABA5AF396462@fsu.edu> Message-ID: Dear College of Education Students, Two of the doctoral students in the College of Education, Ahmad Rahimi and Hila Sharon David, are finalists in the annual FSU Three Minute Thesis competition. This event, which takes place tomorrow (Tuesday, November 18) at 2:00 PM in the College of Medicine auditorium (directly across from the College of Education), requires students to describe their research in an easy-to-understand manner in just three minutes, using just a single slide to accompany their remarks (see attachment for more details). Describing your own research succinctly is an important skill for you to possess. Seeing excellent examples of how other students do so should help you develop this skill. If you are available, please come to this event to support our two finalists, vote for your favorite presentation, and learn how to concisely explain your own research. I?m confident that you will enjoy this event and that you will improve your own skills by attending. I hope to see you there! Robert A. [Duel of the Schools 2019 | Duel of the Deans] Duel of the Schools 2019 Today's the day! From November 19 - December 3, FSU's College of Education will compete once again with the College of Education at UF in the annual Duel of the Schools - a donation drive to see which college has the most active alumni and friends. FSU came out on top last year with 354 donors versus UF's 258, and we want to keep that momentum going. For the last three years, FSU has also awarded more scholarships than any other College of Education in Florida. With your help, we can extend that streak to four years and beyond! Over the course of this two-week pledge drive, we will settle which College of Education has the more engaged alumni and friends, all while raising money for student scholarships, professional development programs for working teachers, and the continued growth of the College of Education's alumni events. Help FSU stay on top for another year and support the Noles in the 2019 Duel of the Schools. Donations of every size help, so pledge your donation between now and December 3 and help us #OutGivetheGators! Last year, we challenged the University of Florida to see which college of education could receive the most donations, all of which go to support scholarships, education programs and more. As you would expect, FSU crushed the Gators! However, UF has challenged us once again, and we are turning to our students, faculty, staff, and alumni to help us #OutGivetheGators! The competition isn't about total dollar amount raised but rather the number of donors, so every donation helps, even if it's $5. Help the College of Education retain the title two years in a row and donate to one of our worthy causes by visiting dueloftheschools.com. [Duel of the Schools 2019 | Duel of the Deans] Duel of the Schools 2019 In this season of thanksgiving, we're thankful for all of our wonderful alumni and friends who continue to support our students and initiatives here in the College of Education. To those who have already donated in support of the Duel of the Schools - thank you! If you haven't yet, there's still time! From now until December 3 (Giving Tuesday), FSU's College of Education is competing once again with the College of Education at UF in the annual Duel of the Schools - a donation drive to see which college has the most active alumni and friends. The goal is participation, not necessarily dollars raised, so even gifts of $5 are welcome!
