I chose FSU?s Instructional System and Learning Technologies (ISLT) MS program for two primary reasons: One, because of my strong passion for psychological theory and exploring innovative methods for supporting learning and performance; and two, because of the strong sense of support for my academic and professional endeavors expressed by COE staff and alumni. In the ISLT program, I am studying theories of learning and cognition as well as models for analyzing, designing and implementing solutions to problems in learning and performance. I am interested in research that explores creative tools for addressing needs in education and training, such as connectivism and the rise of mobile and gaming technologies in learning/performance settings. Over the summer, I will complete my internship with FSU?s College of Nursing where I?ll be transforming face-to-face classes into high-quality online courses and update current online courses to meet Quality Matters standards for online student success. After I graduate with my master?s degree, I plan to pursue an instructional design career in a corporate setting or in faculty development. Have news to share? We'd love to hear from you!
