[Coe-grad] CORRECTION: Important Reminder for FALL 2019 Graduation Application Period September 3-13

College of Education Students Who Plan to Complete All Degree Requirements in Fall 2019,

Good morning! If you are completing all of your degree requirements for fall 2019 degree conferral, please make sure to apply online for graduation beginning September 3 and prior to the application deadline on September 13. If you are not completing your degree requirements in fall 2019, please disregard this email.

September 3 - September 13, 2019 is the application period for fall 2019 graduation. You are required to apply for graduation even if you do not intend to attend the Commencement Ceremony. If you are enrolled in an MS/EDS dual enrollment program, you must apply for graduation for both degree programs. Please note: Participation in a Commencement Ceremony<https://registrar.fsu.edu/graduation/ceremony/> is not degree conferral.

Apply Online for Graduation
1.      Login at my.fsu.edu<http://my.fsu.edu/>.
2.      Under myFSU Links on the left-hand side of the screen, click the SC icon.
3.      Under the Academics area, click the drop-down box arrow and select Apply for Graduation.
4.      For further instructions, visit http://www.sc.my.fsu.edu/Students/How-To/Apply-to-Graduate.

If you have not been set as “eligible for graduation” by the Registrar’s Office and/or you cannot access the application link in my.fsu.edu, please contact the Graduation Office directly at graduation at fsu.edu<mailto:graduation at fsu.edu> or 644-5850 for assistance, prior to the September 13 application deadline.

If you are applying for degree conferral for fall 2019, please note the following:


  *   Friday, December 13, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. – Fall 2019 Commencement Ceremony for the College of Education.
  *   Participation in a Commencement Ceremony is not a guarantee of degree conferral.
  *   Fall 2019 degrees will not post to transcripts until early January 2020 (date TBA). NO exceptions

Other Important Reminders:

  *   MS Thesis-track and doctoral candidates* must have a Prospectus Clearance Form, approved by the academic dean, on file in OASIS to be eligible for degree conferral. *The doctoral dissertation Prospectus Clearance Form must be approved by the academic dean at least four months prior to the dissertation defense date.
  *   Doctoral candidates are required to register for a minimum two (2) semester hours of dissertation every term, including summer. International students and students on graduate assistantships may have greater requirements. Please contact your advisor for questions.
  *   Thesis students and doctoral candidates are required to register for a minimum two (2) semester hours of thesis or dissertation in the semester of degree conferral. You must also register for the thesis/dissertation defense in the semester in which this requirement is completed.
  *   All exams (comprehensive, preliminary, etc.) and all defenses require registration – contact your department for details.
  *   Fall 2019 Thesis and Dissertation Manuscript Clearance deadlines are found at https://gradschool.fsu.edu/academics-research/thesis-treatise-and-dissertation.
