Good afternoon! Please see the information below and in the attached PDFs regarding upcoming important dates and deadlines.

Spring 2018 registration<http://registrar.fsu.edu/registration_guide/spring/enrollment_appointments/> closes on Friday, December 8 (6:00pm Eastern US).

·         Check your online account (my.fsu.edu) to make sure you have no registration hold(s) that will prevent your registration. Registration holds must be cleared before any courses can be added to your course schedule.
·         Please register before early registration closes, to avoid late registration fees. Late registration fees will not be waived.
·         For questions about registration, please contact your academic department directly.

December 8, 2017 - Last Day of Classes
Deadline for submission of all fall 2017 Comprehensive Exam/Portfolio results (Masters/Specialist students), fall 2017 Diagnostic Exam Results, fall 2017 Doctoral Preliminary Exam results, fall 2017 Graduate Certificate Admission<http://education.fsu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Graduate-Certificate-Admissions-Form-rev.SP17.pdf> forms, fall 2017 Graduate Certificate Completion<http://education.fsu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Graduate-Certificate-Completion-Form-SP-2017.pdf> forms and (for fall 2017 admits) Educator Preparation Application<https://education.fsu.edu/student-resources/student-academic-services-oasis/for-graduate-students> and official FTCE exam scores to OASIS, 2301 Stone Building.


December 15, 2017 - Last day for Prospectus approval during the Fall semester in order to graduate in Spring 2018. Prospectus must be approved by the academic dean at least four (4) months prior to Dissertation Defense. Note: This date is approximately four (4) months from The Graduate School’s Spring 2018 manuscript clearance deadline.

Saturday, December 17, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. – Fall 2017 Commencement Ceremony for College of Education.*

*Students Who Applied for Fall 2017 Graduation: Before degrees are officially granted, final-semester grades must be recorded and records rechecked for total hours and other degree requirements. PARTICIPATION IN GRADUATION EXERCISES (Commencement) IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF GRADUATION.
Final graduation clearance reviews will begin after December 20, 2017, when the fall 2017 grades are posted. The College of Education and the Registrar’s Graduation Office will begin reviewing all students who have applied for graduation for final degree completion requirements after that date. IMPORTANT General Reminders
ALL Students:

  *   Comprehensive exams, preliminary exams and all defenses (thesis, dissertation, portfolio defenses, etc.) require registration. Most departments require registration for diagnostic exam. – Contact your department academic coordinator for details.

Students Seeking Professional Education Certification:

  *   The Graduate Application for Admission to Educator Preparation<https://fsu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_00RfV2wNWTMD5hX> and official passing scores on all sections of the FTCE General Knowledge exams must be submitted to OASIS by the end of the first semester of enrollment in an initial teacher preparation graduate degree program.
  *   Educational Leadership/Administration MS and EDS program students must submit the Graduate Application for Admission to Educator Preparation for Educational Leadership/Administration Programs<https://fsu.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_e3g8G2Z2BBF3tch> by the end of the first semester of enrollment.

Doctoral Students:

  *   A signed program of study must be submitted to The Office of Academic Services and Intern Support (OASIS) by the end of the third semester in the program.

  *   All doctoral students who are admitted to candidacy must be enrolled for a minimum of two (2) dissertation credit hours each term (including summer). Minimum hours requirements may be different for international students and for students on assistantship. Continuous enrollment in dissertation hours is a requirement for graduation clearance.

  *   Doctoral diagnostic exams require registration in most departments. Doctoral diagnostic/qualifying exams must be successfully completed before the end the second semester in the doctoral program. The Diagnostic/Qualifying Exam Results form must be submitted to OASIS.

  *   Doctoral annual evaluations must be submitted to OASIS by July 1 each year. Please contact your major professor for questions. Forms are found online in the “Doctoral Students” section of http://education.fsu.edu/student-resources/student-academic-services-oasis/for-graduate-students.

Master’s and Specialist’s Students:

  *   A signed program of study must be submitted to The Office of Academic Services and Intern Support (OASIS) by the end of the second semester in the program.

  *   Thesis-track students - A student who enrolls in thesis hours need not be enrolled continuously thereafter in thesis hours if they meet the minimum university requirement for full-time or part-time enrollment through other coursework. A student must be enrolled in a minimum of two thesis hours in the semester of graduation. The minimum number of thesis hours required for the master’s degree is six. Those with underload permission must register for at least two credit hours of thesis per semester. Underloads must be approved by the student’s academic dean.
