Dear Ones,
The date of the last SMALLS of the season has changed due to rain this Sat and Sun.
Comedy or Apocalypse will NOW be on Friday, May 15, 4-8pm.
This was the ONLY weekend day without rain for the next two weeks...
So now all of you who are panicking about making your art or finishing your art or turning in your art ...
The Weather Gods are on your side!
Please turn in your art, if it needs to be inside, 4-7pm today thru this Fri...(to be hung at my discretion as there is limited space)

Otherwise
Bring your art or cartoon or something scary or funny with you on Fri, May 15th, to hang on the convenient clothes line that will be in the SMALLS yard for all to see and enjoy.
...And we will see if all the forecasts I've been obsessively consulting will play out well for us!
(have to admit it's a bit like consulting chicken bones thrown into a hat...)

I wanted to reach out and let you know, in case you haven?t heard already, that I?m currently serving as the interim Career Liaison for the College of Fine Arts, and am here to support you in helping our students become career ready. If you didn?t work with me before, I was the Career Liaison from 2021-2023, and interim 2023-2024, and am back as interim for now as the Career Center prepares for next steps in serving the College of Fine Arts.

You are warmly invited to attend "residual heat", the 2026 FSU 2nd Biennale Student Exhibition at the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum in the Munroe Family Community Gallery.
residual heat brings together selected work from MFA, BFA, and BA students in the Florida State University Department of Art. The exhibition highlights a wide range of approaches across media, reflecting the depth and diversity of contemporary studio practice at FSU.
The works in this exhibition consider what remains after an action, an experience, or a process ? traces of material, gesture, memory, and transformation. Through painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and interdisciplinary practices, these artists engage questions of presence, change, and duration, revealing how meaning persists beyond its initial moment. Together, the exhibition presents a cross section of emerging artists whose practices reflect both individual inquiry and shared concerns within contemporary art. Residual Heat offers a space to consider the lasting impact of creative work and the ways in which images, objects, and ideas continue to resonate over time.

Dear Ones,
Just a little reminder to stop by SMALLS tomorrow (Fri, 15th) for the last SMALLS of the season. It's gonna be a doozy NOT to be missed, with 20 artists inside... that has to be a record... The work is incredible and amusing and, well you'll just have to come see for yourself!

Also, if you want to be part of the show, bring something (a cartoon, a drawing, a poem or whatever moves you), to hang on the line/lines that will be strung outside by the palm tree for all to view and enjoy.
Don't be shy, here's your opportunity to create a crazy masterpiece!
