[Art-mfastudio] Important: CAB wood shop

Hi all,

These are serious issues in the CAB wood shop. Please read the following:

#1 Tools should not be removed from the shop. If you have any, please return them immediately. The hand-tools that were supplied are essentially all missing. The shop has been restocked many times - including out of pocket, by Tenee at one point - and it is continuously being looted. We do not have the funds to replaced misplaced or stolen tools.

#2 You must clean up after yourself. When you leave, the shop should be cleaner than when you arrived. This is a safety issue.

#3  Do not double-swipe unless you are opening the garage door. If you do double-swipe, you need to double-swipe out. The door is being double-swiped, which means ANYONE CAN ENTER THE SHOP UNAUTHORIZED. This is a serious problem.

#4 Most recently the shop was left a complete mess and pressure treated wood was part of that mess. NO PRESSURE TREATED WOOD is allowed any of our shops. If you don't know what pressure treated wood is, ask me or Kevin or Andy. Some clues that the wood is pressure treated:


  *
the wood has a green tint or a yellow tint with very pronounced grain
  *
the wood has tacky wet spots on it
  *
It has a label that says it is "treated" or "weather proof" or "ground contact" or uses the abbreviations ACQ, Bor, or FDN
  *
Smells like chemicals
  *
Is branded "WeatherShield" or "Yellawood"

If you aren't sure, ASK FIRST. Any pressure treated wood seen in the shop will be immediately discarded.

If we can't keep unauthorized people out of the shop and can't maintain a safe environment and keep the tools in the shop, we will have to restrict access to the shop and make it available only when a monitor can be present.
