As of today, I am officially the new FSU Art Graduate Program Director. The outgoing Graduate Program Director, Kevin Curry, will now be the new Area Head in Sculpture and stay tuned because much will be developing in the sculpture area under his leadership. You can learn more about me and my practice here and at my website. The next email you receive from me is an invite to the new FSU Art Grad calendar. It is a google calendar that we have populated with vital information for taking full advantage of our program. We will strive to keep this calendar up to date and informative so you can keep up with the program and plan for and around important department and program events. (We will soon expand the calendar to include installation and project room reservations.) A couple of notes: * I know that all of you are anxious to find out what your GA/GTA assignments will be. As many of you have noticed, your tuition statements might seem a little wonky right now - that is because while the waivers have been put in - they need your final signature to 'drop'. You can electronically access your waiver receipt in your Student Central or as I always call it - your FSU portal. Once accessed you will need to sign and send me your completed waiver form so that I can submit them as a whole. Here is a quick step-by-step on how to access your waiver form... Last week we held a meeting which was attended by only a very small number of MFAs and we were unable to transition roles at that time. We need to do so as soon as possible. To reiterate the previous e-mail, LGA is a vital organ of the MFA program, a great way to build out a resume and serves to facilitate exhibition opportunities in the Working Method Contemporary gallery.
